MY LUCKY STAR (Joe Keenan). The glamorous Hollywood novel gets a sharp send-up as a smart drawing-room comedy crossed liberally with farce in this third offering from a successful television writer. Struggling playwrights Philip and Claire are summoned to Tinseltown by their calculating friend Gilbert to be screenwriters for a legendary diva, Diana Malenfant, and her megastar son, Stephen Donato. When the budding screenwriters are revealed as inadvertent plagiarists, Philip is forced to ghostwrite the memoirs of Diana's toxic has-been sister, Lily, and turn over all potentially damaging pages to Diana and Stephen. Lily is threatening to expose the silver screen's best-kept secret, that Stephen is gay. All are coexisting in a glittery detente until L.A.'s most fashionable madam gets the goods on the entire cast and demands a production credit, prodding the ever-capable Claire to devise the most madcap of rescues. The witty banter, zany plot twists, and colorful, likable characters (even the dastardly villains) provide a delight for fans of brainy comedy. If the ghost of Noel Coward isn't pleased, Frasier's is. (Kaite Mediatore, BOOKLIST)

Lure, The (Felice Picano) In 1979, Felice Picano rocketed to fame with the publication of this shocking, controversial thriller. Riveting and candid in its depiction of the gay sexual subculture of the era, and praised by Stephen King as "Explosive...Felice Picano is one hell of a writer." The Lure thrusts young widower Noel Hathaway into a dark universe of physical and psychological violence; an unwilling lure used by the police to unmask an elusive killer.

Wednesday

June Special

Wicked
Wednesday, June 16, 8:00 PM
Music Hall at Fair Park, Dallas

Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One - born with emerald green skin - is smart, fiery, and misunderstood; the other is beautiful, ambitious, and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good makes for “the most complete and completely satisfying new musical in a long time.” (USA Today).

FOR GOOD (my fav!) by original cast members Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel.

Bill & Andy (E BALC) and Darwin & Dirk (MAIN FLOOR) are going. Let them know if you plan to join them!

Friday

CANCELLED

EMAIL RECEIVED 6/9 AM: "A MASSIVE rainstorm moved through our area on Wednesday night/Thursday morning. The rain was so immensly heavy that the dam that holds in our beloved pond has been breached. The entire pond has drained and the landscape surrounding the creek has been transformed. As of Thursday morning, we see no way that the east side of the property can be accessed by any of our campers.

"It is with heavy hearts we must cancel our upcoming Mud / Wrestling weekend, scheduled for June 11th thru June 13th. The majority of the activities we had planned were to take place on the now inaccessable side of the property and the now drained pond.

"For those of you that would still like to come out to the ranch, we will, as always, do our very best to ensure you have a fun and memorable weekend. Please keep in mind that we will be in the process of assessing and repairing the unbelievable damage caused by this natural disaster.

"If you have any questions or concerns, call us at 903-479-4189 and thank you all for your understanding and support. We will be updating our website, http://www.campcirclej.com as soon as we can."
